Intermediate Rent

What is Intermediate Rent?

Intermediate Rent is a discounted rented scheme, Intermediate rent is set at 80% of market rent. Applicants must be looking to purchase a home in the short to medium term (5 years). Applicants will need to have a savings plan in place to save towards the required deposit.

How many properties are available for Intermediate Rent in Herts?

Availability is limited and varies between local authority areas.

What sort of properties are offered under the scheme?

Mostly 1 and 2 bedroom flats or occasionally studio flats. Family sized properties are rare.

Would I be able to transfer to another property?

Intermediate Rent properties are not a ‘secure-type’ tenancy – they are Assured Shorthold and have no Right to Transfer or Mutual Exchange.
